Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar in Narcos is one of the best acting performances I've ever seen in a TV show.

I found Narcos quite awful in the way how it oversimplifies a very traumatic time for the colombian society, making the DEA agents the heroes of a linear, almost video game like quest. I get it that it is a netflix show and made with the goal of entertain. I guess in that context, and given the writing of the show, the work of Moura is quite good. For me it is though, just a so close, yet so far situation. His accent is decent for a non native, but still way off, so that for a native speaker like me, it falls in that uncanny valley that makes me cringe all the time. I can't ever get past the accent, so I can't even focus on his acting. I think the actor is great, but the casting not so much. Like many others wrote, "El patrón del Mal" is way better in many aspects, and the perfomance of Andres Parra as Escobar there is really exceptional.
