In wake of second e-scooter death, Atlanta leaders promise push for safer streets

Bird, and Lime, and now Jump, and Wheels, and even Uber I think is leaving its own electric bikes everywhere.

Downtown is already built up. Where are these bike lanes going to to? Take lanes away from cars? Rip up the side walks? Meanwhile we have scooters and e-bikes, and they're not even obeying the traffic rules that bicyclists have to follow. Just zipping right out in the middle of everything, and expecting their safety to be someone else's problem.

Unless a scooter/e-bike vendor has an agreement with the city, the city should be throwing those scooters/e-bike into the impound lot just like they do with abandoned cars. Every one of those stupid things should have to pay the same registration fees our cars do ... then maybe the city could afford all those daffy bike lanes the scooter folks want to put in.
