Wake up America, your country doesn't value your life

I'd also say he's right for a very different reason. America is a very competitive society lending to the dog eat dog view. To say that we are a nation of poor people is disingenuous at best (I'm not saying we don't have people who are poorer than the rest, but our poor are far from the worlds neediest.) American society at large values liberty and self-reliance/ personal responsibility, equal opportunity and competition, and the chance for the American dream and hard work. It takes a lot more than pretending to be on the 1%, you have to work hard for it, and there are PLENTY of examples of just that happening, sometimes you make it sometime you don't. The only important fact is that you were given a fair shake at it, and I will fight alongside anyone not given an equal opportunity as the rest.

Americans DO help Americans especially the most needy or defenseless among us, but we certainly aren't going to coddle you or feed you with a silver spoon (goes back to the self-reliance and personal responsibility bit).
