You wake up tomorrow and you are the new Benevolent Dictator of Seattle. What do you do differently? What unpopular decisions do you make and why will they improve the city?

HOUSING -- If a parcel contains low income housing units, and the owner wants to demo or reno the structure, the owner must build or fund an equal number of low-income units on the property or within a .25 mile radius. This applies to any housing - old apartment building, SFH with MIL unit, slummy rooming house.

DOG PARKS -- * Park rangers will visit the parks regularly and write citations to people who break rules. * All adult dogs must be spayed or neutered. * Each adult may bring 1-3 dogs, provided they own the dogs, with current license. * People who want to bring packs of 2-6 dogs, as a service business, must have a business licence, and pay a fee to use the park. * No children under age 12 allowed in the dog park. * Children age 12-18 are admitted to the park only if they and their parent have viewed an online safety training. * No bicycles in the dog park. * Citations and fines are issues for the following: leaving the gate open, not picking up poop, adult dog not spay/neutered, operating a dog care/training business without a permit, off-leash dog in the parking lot, and more, so much more.

PUBLIC SHAMING -- Names and photos posted, for one week, on a public web site, for the following infractions: * car blocking an intersection (3rd offense) * harassing people on the street (2nd offense, if sufficient proof) * tagging public or private property, except where permitted or invited (2nd offense) * car drivers harrassing bicyclists or pedestians (2nd offense, if sufficient proof) * DUI or texting while driving (2nd offense) * walking shared modal public streets with insufficient attention, whaling while texting (2nd offense)

Anyone who has appeared on the public shaming web site will be offered a chance to make amends, and to be publicly thanked if they make amends.
