You wake up with a trillion dollars in your bank account. Only you know it, and it's clean money. What's the first thing you do?

Get a really good lawyer and a really good accountant to make sure I don't accidentally commit some sort of felony.

Then start getting it set up into trusts, meaningful non-cash assets, etc. A couple dozen million dollars is just staying mine in a personal simple dividend-yielding brokerage account, but a trillion dollars is a ludicrous number of dollars. I could set up a trust that distributes $5,000/month to every person I'm even moderately fond of and twice that to everyone I really like, forever, double NASA's budget for the next ten years, outspend every lobbying firm in DC by an order of magnitude for the next thirty, buy a thousand different million-dollar mansions and set up homeless shelters in them, and still not even have allocated half of the money.
