You walk in and see your troop (female) got this new haircut. What do you do?

1st Sgt here, man some of you fellas need to learn how to read an AFI.

First of all, it looks questionable that the length of hair does not reach the 1/4 minimum, I'd measure it. She can have 1/4 all the way around if she wanted to, nothing says she can't, but it has to be at least a 1/4 in length.

Second of all I'd refer to this for the wasteland style cut she's got going on top.

Hair-male and female. Will be clean, well-groomed, present a professional appearance, allow proper wear of headgear, helmet or chemical mask and conform to safety requirements. Will not contain excessive amounts of grooming aids (e.g. gel, mousse, pomade, and moisturizer), appear lopsided, touch either eyebrow, or end below an imaginary line across the forehead at the top of the eyebrows that is parallel to the ground.

It does not present a professional appearance and it is cut in a way that appears lopsided.

Bring her in the office and have another female measure her hair, then council as needed. For males these situations are simple, goto the barber and shave more off to get back into regs. However when they use crap like hair dye or when females cut too short, it can get really complicated.

They will absolutely not be in uniform with that hair cut, so I advise them after they received thier corrective action, that they can either take leave long enough for the hair to grow out so they can correct it, or we walk next door to the commander's office to see what he wants to do with you. Usually this means coming in everyday in professional looking civilian attire to perform odd jobs around the building (moving around furniture, picking up shipments, cleaning, ect ect.)
