Walked away with a new understanding of slavery in America by visiting a National monument.

i think many of us believe if we can come to understand the mechanism(s) that cause(s) these things we can prevent them in the future...

that slaughter in Norway was pretty bad but i think for the most part that society prevents such awful things ...and how they are dealing with the guy i think is admirable. they are not killing him or hating him. he is in solitary confinement but has two well lit rooms and a computer for writing. he is not tortured or punished but just kept away from the rest of humanity because he has demonstrated an ability to harm us. the only way this works, however, is to have a justice and penal system in place that prevents releasing people like this guy back into society... i think the main reason people opt for the death penalty is because they do not trust the system to keep the incarcerated away from humanity.

i know its weird i got on that tangent huh... but yes i am interested and concerned that humanity not go to the places it has gone in japan, germany, russia, turkey... anywhere there is genocide... the uk ...
