The Walking Dead Season 6 cliffhanger

I hadn't read the entire comic detailing the group's encounter with Negan, I had only seen cuts from it usually showing the goriness. I can't say I recall exactly how I felt while watching it, but I know I wasn't disappointed that's for sure. I just felt overwhelmed because I knew about Negan and how powerful his survival unit is... but the episode just drastically changed so much tone compared to previous episodes. It was a slow and residual fear that grew with every passing minute. A big culmination of dread coming over Rick's group as they had to stare onward against unfathomable odds. I knew before the episode was over that someone wasn't going to die just from the time; Negan only appear sand starts talking at the very end of the episode. So I guess once the cliffhanger happened I wasn't so focused on it.

Instead, I thought the episode did an amazing job showing the group's demise. A forcible change they didn't anticipate at all. The way they keep finding bigger and bigger roadblocks... running through the woods. It was more terrifying than any walker encounter they've had by a long shot. Negan's character was spot on in my opinion. I thought the only cheesy part about the episode was that they bothered to use a camera's point of view for the killing. I would have been okay with just a cut of Negan getting ready to hit.

So anyway, I felt the episode was good. I'm pretty curious to see how they continue the scene. It's honestly probably one of the best episodes we've seen... and after I read the related comic issues I felt I liked the show's take much better. I honestly don't think Negan's obscene language in the comics adds to his character, or at least just saying fuck every three seconds gets old pretty quickly. The show Negan seems like an advanced version of the Governor minus some of the crazier aspects.
