Walmart Patents Audio Surveillance Tool to Monitor Employee Conversations

A decade ago I had a nice full time hourly 9-5 tech job in the pharmacy at Walmart. I was lucky. But the authoritarian exploitation I witnessed - of both customers and employees was appalling. The anti-union propaganda in the orientation and the Walmart cult chants every day was creepy. Loss prevention detained a customer without charge for hours after she took a bottle of vitamins assuming insurance paid for it. And especially the over-time exempt salaried department "supervisors" on rotating consecutive 10-day shifts straddling weekly schedules. One attempted suicide. So I gave my two weeks notice after a year. My family was upset. But I feel bad for everyone still working there.
