Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Nothing really beats. It's about nostalgia and regret, I mean all great records are about a sense of loss starting from Quadrophenia to even 10,000 Days. Tasteful guitar playing that almost seems like wailing, groovy drums, the Hammond very subtly sprinkling a breathtakingly beautiful ambience along with absolutely heartbreaking lyrics while representing madness of the human mind in a graceful manner. The overall sound of the record is much more polished than The Dark Side.
Time. The way it shifts to the next part "Home, home again..." is incredibly existential and sad and incites a considerable amount of brooding over. I mean the entire record is a piece of beauty.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over Thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can
This band is too album oriented for us to even listen to individual songs. However I'd go for the psychedelic masterpiece, Echoes.
