I disagree. Everything we did was the name of patient safety. I don't know about what you would do in my situation, but if you had the chance to prevent a man from running out into active busy traffic can you tell me you wouldn't take it? As much as I enjoy a good trauma call, letting it happen on my watch is unacceptable if it's avoidable.

You also have no idea what training my partner and I have. You're lack of training does not determine mine. That's the whole idea behind a PRT (preferred restraint technique) that they teach for hospital security to deal with exactly these kinds of patients.

I dig the whole salty medic character, but if you let it affect you to the point of having zero compassion for your patients to the point of allowing preventable harm, then you need to reconsider your mindset or your career choice.
