I am probably an outlier but I dont think we have had decent presidential candidates in my lifetime. Bush ran on a platform that wasn't useful in what he got dragged in to (9/11 not going to debate conspiracy theories, just that he didnt plan to be a wartime president). Obama ran on a platform of change amd expanded drone strikes and fed control in a lot of areas, not exactly a change from the status quo. McCain actually may have made a decent president but he changed to fit his voters one he got the nomination. Romney was a turd from the get go. And Trump, Hil, and bern? This whole election was a shit show.

Trump is a moron who knew what his voters wanted. Hilary was anything she needed to be for whoever might vote for her. Bernie was a plant from the start. The DNC wouldn't have nominated him and by his flip flop on supporting Hillary, he obviously didnt care that much.

I dont say this as supporting any particular candidate, I just want one person who makes me excited about the future of the USA but they all seem to make me sad for the future. I dont believe there are any real politicians who care about the future, just what they can get out of capitalizing on the current political climate.
