The quote has to deal with the acquisition of the fortune, and many commenters have already discussed that aspect. But what about the retention of the fortune?

A man is laying on the ground, dying, because he cannot afford life saving medication. The medicine costs ten cents. I walk past him and refuse to buy him the medicine. Is that unconscionable?

I don't know where the line is. I don't know what an acceptable wealth gap would look like. But this has long since crossed the line wherever it is.
