Warriors - Worlds Theme (Epic Orchestral Version)

Pretty good! If you don't mind me giving some suggestions:

1) Personally, I don't think this feels that epic. Here are a few things I would do to change that.

  • Slow the tempo: When creating a remix or new version, you don't have to keep the same tempo. If you listen to the 2020 season cinematic (which is basically an EPIC choral/electronic remix), you'll notice the tempo is a lot slower. This helps increase the gravitas (weight, so to speak) of the song.
  • Amp up the bass. Not sure if it was the instrumentation or the mix (or maybe just YouTube compression though that's unlikely), but there was very little bass and a lot of treble. I like to think of it like this: Bass helps ground the music, and gives it weight, robustness, and epicness (I love bass if you can't tell). Treble is mainly used for melodies and gives shape and flow to the piece. Middling voices (ex: viola, cello to an extent) are great for harmonies as they add a lot of depth and fill out the sound. These are obviously just guidelines and you can switch up what voices you use for what, but keep in mind grounding, shape, and depth.

    2) Try and add a bit more detail. Obviously this is an arrangement/remix, so things aren't supposed to be the same. However, it sounds like you cut out quite a bit of the interesting rhythms, especially some of the syncopated ones. Also try adding some more dynamics. You had some, but doing stuff electronically allows us to make really really big changes and really really small ones too. I'm guessing from what I heard that you might have felt limited by the patches you were using as well, which leads into my next point.

    3) Experiment with different patches/samples. I have no idea what software you're using, or what libraries are available to you. I use Logic Pro X, but there's plenty of good free/cheap DAW out there, whether you're on Windows or Macs. Also look into sound libraries. Most of them are very expensive but there are free ones out there (Check Native Instruments, I think they have a free library or two for Kontakt, which can be downloaded to most DAWs).

  • Experimenting with patches opens up so many options. It can be hard to tell what sounds like what, so just mess around. If you're doing an orchestral version, I'd especially look for different articulations for string instruments. It sounded to me like you just had a legato articulation for the strings, maybe a staccato one as well but that's it.

  • If you have the capability, experiment with reverb and EQ and all the other stuff as well. Electronically creating music gives unparalleled control, so don't be afraid to try stuff out even if you're not exactly sure what it will do. You can always undo it.

Overall, I think you're off to a really good start. Keep experimenting, creating new stuff, refining old stuff, and most importantly, have fun! I'll be honest, I'm not an expert at digital music at ALL, but I've had the opportunity to learn from some amazing people and I'm trying my best to pass some of what I've learned on to you in this one comment.
