Warriors Fan Has Kind Words For LeBron After The Game

I'll admit. I'd this once, and I'm not proud of it. A couple of seasons ago I "scored" first row seats to the Spurs-Thunder game. It was just a regular season game with nothing particular on the line, but it was the first time the Thunder played in our house since they bounced us from the 2012 WCF. Suffice to say, I harbored an irrational hate for Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Thunder squad since that time.

To set the scene, I'll just say that I was sitting in the second row in a certain somebody's certain ex-wife's seats who had left early to take her kiddos home. The seats were right next to my parents', so they called me and told me to come down from my plebeian seats at the second half. My parents left at the beginning of the third quarter, but my buddy and I stayed and subsequently popped into some vacated first row seats.

That's when the visual encounter happened, much like the one that just occurred between LBJ and the Golden State fan. Russell Westbrook, to begin the fourth quarter, was bringing the ball up when Kawhi poked it out from his dribble. The ball ended up out of bounds at my feet. I gave it to the ref and saw Russell walking up to inbound it. "This is my chance," I thought, "I'm going to bring that btch Russell Westbrook down to earth - He should know what the fans think of his btch ass." So, I started opening my mouth, I started gesticulating violently, I was about to lay the smack down on Westbrook. Then, I looked up and our eyes caught one another. He saw me start up and just gave me the faintest of head shakes - like he was signaling to me that he wasn't going to put up with anybody's shit.

That's all it took for me to shut my mouth. I remember looking up at that 6'3" Greek statue and realizing how insignificant of a human being I was compared to Westbrook. I cried into my beer the rest of the night.
