Wasting resources on keeping pets in your home instead of helping humans is selfish, bourgeoisie behavior

Animals are superior to humans

Some, there is probably an argument to make. I can comfortably say no common pets are.

Minimal carbon footprint

That is not the only form of pollution. Cattle have a horrific methane footprint that affects climate change. Dogs are known pollutants of local water sources, and cats are genocidal. Multiple species have been completely wiped out by cats.

There is also the ecological impact of saving animals vs humans. The planet would be infinitely better off if half of humanity disappeared today

Depends which half really. That's the thing.

The same cant be said if half of all animal species disappeared.

Most certainly could lol. Invasive species regularly destroy entire ecosystems and spread pathogens. You have a really idyllic view of animals. Also, the world would be better off without pitbulls. I have full confidence saying that.

It could cause the extinction of the entire planet.

Plenty of species could go extinct, and it would only have positive benefits.

Therefore, you're way better off helping animals than humans.

Some animals, perhaps, but certainly, absolutely not any common pets. Neither dogs nor cats.
