Watching the United States as an outsider.

Good for you, but everything you just said is anecdotal evidence and plays no role in an argument. To argue this subject you needs facts and need to be objective.

I can easily find someone from anywhere that has the same story as you. There are people from Russia to Pakistan who also live extremely well, but that doesnt mean those places are the best to live.

As for freedoms, you are not a true democracy (https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2018/02/nordic-countries-top-democratic-rankings-2017/), a small number of people choose your elected officials (the one with the most votes doesnt win), you have one of the lowest freedom of press indexes in the developed world (https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2018-04-25/us-falls-in-world-press-freedom-index), womens reproductive rights (as well as access to proper healthcare for those problems in certain areas) are still highly contested as well as gay rights, prostitution is illegal (decriminalizing or legalizing this has proven to lower human trafficking), weed is still illegal and comes with heavy penalties according to your federal govt. We can go on and on here but according to any numbers, research or index america falls almost dead last among developed nations in relation to freedoms.

I dont deny that for your particular situation america is just fine for you, but again you have to look at things with facts and figures not just stories. It is almost impossible for you with your particular story to say if you would do better or worse in any other nation, which is why we have to look at data objectively or else this argument is just you saying your country is best because you live an alright life.
