I just need to vent for a sec

I've got a long time friend who's an undependable deadbeat who I've given countless chances and consistently made excuses for him for the last 5+ years but I've reached my wits end with him

Long story short we were going to Denver this last weekend and when I booked the trip over a month ago I asked him to stay at my place and watch my pets and I'd pay him $75, which is pretty fair given he'd just be chillin all weekend and getting to eat all my food. I mean to pay somebody on Rover or Wag to stop by it would have only been like $100. And he's a friend

Anyway I knew when I asked how much of an undependable person he is, so I said "can I seriously count on you? The whole trip hangs on this and you have to not be a piece of shit and bail" and he goes "people may bail but best friends don't bail"

Then he bailed 3 damn hours before he was supposed to be here because he said it wasn't enough money to make it worth his time
