Ok, but you didn't really answer my question... what do you do when the filter clogs and backflushing doesn't work? What then? With the ceramic filter you have a mechanical action that you perform (scrubbing) which is guaranteed to un-clog the filter, if that's the problem. With the nanotube filters, I don't see any such action that you can do. If it clogs and backflushing doesn't work, then you're screwed. It happens, and you have no recourse. I'm sure most people who use these things do not do so in extreme circumstances, so I always look for the use cases where things go wrong. When they work, I'm sure it's great, but what about when they don't work, what do you do then?
