The way Cyberpunk 2077 has been treated is indicative of the modern gaming discourse online. And it's tragic that coverage around this game has become emblematic of it.

Honestly bro all the issues you described pale to the mistake made by cdpr. Which is, they overhyped this way starting way too early. Too much pr, too many broad promises, too much “hinting” that this super advanced feature is already in place etc.

To me that was the big problem.

You talk to people who didn’t have mad high expectations , or hadn’t heard so much about it.. even if they had some glitches early on they’ll say they enjoyed the game.

Cause it’s a good game. It’s fun, it looks good, and cyberpunk is a fun vibe.

But if you ask my friend who was super excited about it, but he had tons of glitches, he felt duped on some elements thy discussed in interviews , etc.

He doesn’t call it a shit game or anything, he’s not a negative type. but I know my buddy, he is disappointed. It took him ages to finish it, like he was just wanting to get it done.
