Way too many small business owners think they are entitled to cheap labor

I own a small business (no employees yet) and was also the first employee of the business I was at before. I think the entitlement comes after a period of calculating your own wage durring establishment and feeling jaded about how hard you worked for so little money flowing back to your pocket.
At the end of my first financial year I figured out that my total profit (taxable income) came out to be about $5 an hour with no time and a half for overtime. Compared to my business plan this is better then I was hoping for as I was able to return 100% of the initial investment money and end the year with no business debts and nice equipment. I could look at this and feel jaded that I bust ass 7 days a week with no days off for less then half my local minimum wage but my labors have gotten me much more then just fiscal profits. Personally I think the lowest wage you can offer with a straight face around me and expect any sort of quality work is $18/hour this is based on most fast food, retail and dishwashers positions are paying between $14.25-$16.00 and if you can't beat KFC or Wal-Mart you shouldn't expect anyone to want to work for you. I also think that you should never really expect an employee to be any more then 80% as efficient as you are at the same job because all the fucks they give are in their paycheck and not in expanding your empire.
