I use a couple synastry calculators and they give a score. Both of them give pretty weak scores for my closest friends and my partner. Upon evaluation it appears that I just plain don't have very many aspects with my friends'/partner's chart, compared to all the activity that exists amongst them. The aspects that we do have for the most part are harmonious. With my partner some of our tightest aspects are major red flags apparently (Uranus square Mars, Uranus square Ascendant, Pluto square Venus, Pluto conjunct Ascendant). I have some really nice aspects with my partner if I use a wider orb, but from what I read I shouldn't really be going as wide as 8 degrees for synastry.
I didn't go that in depth with friends/acquaintances. With my partner I did view nodes/vertex and some asteroids. I think his vertex is conjunct my south node and opposition my moon but that's it. However I did calculate our sun/moon midpoint and he has a stellium of personal planets that square my midpoint. Would that make up for lack of planetary aspects? Also my sun/moon midpoint is one degree off his ascendant while his is one degree off my midheaven. Not sure if that's meaningful or if everyone's does that but I thought that was kinda cool.
My partner and I have a 10th and 11th house stellium in each other's charts, and the rest are third and second house placements. Not particularly romantic or sexy.
I look at Chiron but not really the other asteroids, except for Eros and psyche in my and my partner's chart. His psyche is conjunct my ascendant and Mars. I heard asteroids aren't really that important?
Never even considered progressed charts for synastry. Didn't know that was a thing.
I have accurate birth times for my friends and my partner. I know the birth times of several acquaintances too, people that I both clash and jive with. For the others, mostly people I don't like, I checked random hours throughout the day just to try and see why I don't like them but our scores remained high regardless of time.
