Wealthy Gulf Nations Are Criticized for Tepid Response to Syrian Refugee Crisis

In Kuwait and Bahrain you have two countries that are actually doing pretty well socially and economically and have remained great allies with the West, so I don't know what your trying to criticise there. If intervention had any effect, I'd say it turned out net positive here.

Neither Kuwait nor Bahrain are doing well. Kuwait is facing a slew of problems that our incompetent government refuses to do a thing about and it’s not possible for the Kuwaiti people to self-correct without upsetting the geo-political balance which will bring in the transatlantic powers on the side of the government. Bahrainis are revolting against an oppressive government and the native people are losing ground as the government important Sunni Muslims from Pakistan to settle in, gain citizenship and turn their guns against the native populations.

If you can so passively happen to recall these events in Syria do you mind citing them? I have answers for most I just need you to be specific in your reference.

Which ones? The coup d’état or the assassinations?

In 1960 the CIA had a plan to send a poisoned handkerchief to incapacitate a Iraqi Colonel supporting communist ideology. A considered plan that didn't even go into effect, like many CIA clandestine operations. I think "toppling the Iraqi government" is a bit of a stretch here.

You are correct. There are a lot of CIA operations in the region and I keep confusing them. I wish the CIA would use more logical names so it’d be easier to keep track.

These regimes gained popular support through their promises to destroy the state of Israel, defeat the U.S. and other western imperialists and to bring prosperity to the Arab masses.

That is correct. That’s what governments tend to do: promise a lot and deliver nothing.

Fundamental and militant Islam soon followed into power and that's how we are where we are.

Fundamental/Militant Islam followed because the transatlantic powers refused to leave the states and peoples of the region alone. Fundament/Militant Islam is a response to the failure of Communism, Liberalism and Nationalism in resisting imperial and neo-colonial forces that brought about death and destruction in the region.

The shift from Liberal/Secular/Socialist Nationalism to Fundamental/Militant Islam is a reasonable and rational one. The Islamist offered the same thing that the Liberals, Secularists, Socialists and Nationalists did but with one difference: The Islamist delivered.

The Islamic Revolution in Iran proved that the transatlantic powers can be resisted, defeated and driven out of the region. In Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood did a better job of caring for the poor and working class families then the liberals or Socialists ever could and offered them. In the Gulf States the Islamist were able to force the governments to offer better standards of living and in places like Syria and Iraq the Islamist were the single dissident group out there offering resistances against brutal dictatorships.

Blame the West all you want […]

No, to blame is to assign responsibility for a mistake. All I’m doing is giving you a history lesson and I assure this is the reader’s digest version.
