Weapon Reforge Megathread - May 21st, 2015

Screw it, I'll just do it. You can add your own connotations and formatting and such, here's just a little run down.

Hand Cannons

Sureshot/Supah Hawt Fiyah Swap/Speed Reload or Flared Mag/Hidden Hand

Reasoning: Super sticky tracking for head, we want to kill them as quick as possible, and not die. We all are running Special reload arms if we're level 33 or higher right now, so reload is a plus, and HS is good for making surprises not a disadvantage.

Pulse Rifles

Red Dot ORES/Rodeo/Speed Reload or Flared Mag/Hidden Hand or Counterbalance or Rangefinder

Reasoning: largely the same as HC, sticky as heck, stable for the crits, better reload, you can go for UltrastickyTM or a range/stability perk if your PR requires it.

Auto Rifles

ORES or Sureshot/Hot Swap or Hip Fire/High Caliber Rounds or Speed reload/Rangefinder or Counterbalance

Reasoning: Ditch the headshot strat for up close fuck you gameplay. HS or Hip Fire for getting out of jams, High Caliber Rounds means they won't be able to aim well AT ALL, and Rangefinder/Counter depending on your needs.

Scout Rifles

ORES/Full Auto/Hand-laid Stock(Reduced Range, more Stability)/Hidden Hand or Outlaw or Third Eye

Reasoning: You just made the best AR in the game. Congrats. Range is great/fine, so punt that for stability in the middle perks. We're back to sticky seeking, so go for that, or something else that meshes with your playstyle.

Fusion Rifles

ORES or Sureshot/Hip fire/Accelerate Coils/Rangefinder

Reasoning: OP as hell, I highly recommend you take a high impact, high stability FR and roll for this. Accurate at all ranges, and with a very competitive charge rate, you can one shot at a lot of ranges in a lot of scenarios. Great weapon, personal fave that I'm glad I got.

Sniper Rifles

I'm gonna make this more in depth, in that you should go buy the FWC vendor Chosen, as it has perfect perks imo.

Ambush/Rodeo or Hidden Hand/Hand-laid Stock/Unflinching

Reasoning: Fast and Furious two shot kill, max stability, the preferred sight of a lot of Crucible players(self included), and unflinching for clutch kills under fire. Can't wait to max it. Two quick bodyshots or a headshot will kill. Don't worry about the range, as no PvP scenario that isn't Combined Arms will test it.

Shotguns

Aggresive Ballistics/Shot package/Smallbore/Luck in the Chamber

Reasoning: Shot package has been proven through tests that have made the front page and can be search bar'ed for to be superior to Rangefinder in PvP killing at range, because more pellets > better pellets. Small bore gives you more range and stability at the cost of Reload and Mag. That synergizes with Litc to give you better odds of mass destruction, at the cost of some reload. Wonderful.

Light Machine Guns

Aggressive/Hidden Hand or Counter Balance/Injection Mold/Rangefinder

Reasoning: Back to headshot hunting, so we go for stickiness or stability, both help. Injection Mold increases stability and handling at the cost of range, which we get back from Rangefinder, which I believe overcomes it and adds even more. Headshot sprees, anyone?

Rocket Launchers

This is largely based on preference and style of shooting, some people like to scatter them everywhere and others like to go for precision strikes. We'll assume you want the optimal chance to kill a lone target.

Linear Compensator/Spray and Play or Army of One/Flared Mag or Heavy Payload or Javelin/Grenades and Horseshoes(proximity)

Reasoning: Max out the velocity and blast radius as much as possible, clean up any attributes that are deficient, and above all else get proximity. Boom boom.
