Those images are a record of a moment in time when the subjects looked to be full of joy.

I worked as a photojournalist for 17 years before and as the newspaper industry was flipped on its head. I was so sad for myself to watch my place of work change into something I didn’t want to be part of. I felt bitter and like I had wasted my best years.

After leaving, I began receiving inquiries about images from subjects, their friends, families, etc. It made me feel so privileged and happy to repay my subjects for their time by sharing the moments I had documented over the years so they could better remember their place in that part of time, good or bad.
