Week 3: Ori vs Powerdrive V

*Okay, go left, double jump, Bash off the lantern, keep jumping constantly on the hot rocks to avoid getting burned. Get rid of the spine slime, keep going left and carefully get on the tiny bit of solid ground next to the lava waterfall. Then Charge Jump as high as high as possible and angle right onto the next section of superheated rocks...

...wait. Sorry, wrong burning hellscape!*

REAL RP HERE:

FORKS CONFIG PLEASE.

I’ve got a pretty good speed and control advantage, and a pretty big wedge advantage. He can press his lifter, but it has no reach and his forks are pretty narrow, so I can just slide my longer ones either under his side wedgelets (just hinged) or down the middle under the drum itself.

If I’m upright and my flipper’s retracted, always be attacking. Approach erratically and try to come in at angles to see if I can provoke him into gyro-dancing as he turns. A 12-power drum does NOTHING to my wedge on a flat-surface hit, so just try to slide one of the forks under his drum: it’ll glance harmlessly off the shallow angle. At that point push in and try to force him back and make his drum use up its energy scraping against my wedge, then when it’s slowed down a lot, flip him!

If he’s got his drum behind him... no. He can’t get a 180 degree range of motion out of that because his chassis has an actual back in his drawings. He won’t be able to get it anywhere near the floor. Go in, get under his back, and flip.

If he’s raised it in the air in front of him, be more careful. Try more to provoke gyrodancing or get under his side wedgelets; ideally get a fork under, then wiggle so the flipper’s under and launch him, but be ready to bail if he starts bringing that drum down on me.

If I’m flipped, retreat behind the flame thingy and self-right. Note that even a corner hit won’t actually significantly damage my wedge. If one fork is getting a bit messed up at the tip, start favoring the other. If I get a flip in, keep up the pressure: knock into him so he can’t gyro-self-right, and if he tries using the lifter (slow) wait til he high-centers himself and come in for another flip. Try to slam him into the walls and/or pistons and pin him. Don’t mess with the furnace. Don’t attack if my flipper’s extended and his drum’s at high speed, that’s just stupid.

Good Luck!
