Week 4 NBA OFFSEASON THREAD: Post your ideas, rumors, league transactions and other offseason hoopla here

Random vent:

To everyone bitching:

Let's be real here, Golden State's previous season was a financial anomaly where they were able to couple Steph's (people are calling it a 'historically lucky low contract', hindsight 20/20) deal with a cap spike unheard of and signed Durant with the space.

They're already now dealing with the prospects of luxury tax hell that every "other" contender is/was dealing with, they just had a financial free year off essentially. Dray and Klay were both extended under the previous format, leaving vast amounts of monitary freedom, like letting the 90's Bulls have "one more max contract". Now they're negotiating their way to making it work and their players are taking less.

We did the absolute best we could last year. We grabbed a few former all-stars on minimums and assumed they'd bring their former selves to the battle. They didn't, and we lost. Give it time and Golden State will flounder back into the normalcy of parity in professional sports, they just got lucky and timing served them right.

LeBron (as are all of us) are furious with our front office situation right now, and let's be real it's a blemish on our reputation. Dan Gilbert is a jackass to tinker with something that's working so well, he dissolves it. However, we re-signed Korver and hopefully this stint in the Finals lights something under him to make him shake the nerves that any human would feel in such a situation. I have nothing more to say about Calderon, I've said it elsewhere. I hope he's just a tangible asset the likes of Dunleavy we just use to flip for something else (PLEASE FUTURE FO). However Richard is a loyal and lifelong Cav for the rest of his life if he wants to, and I support that.

I don't think Bron is going West because it doesn't make any basketball sense to do so. As an Akronite, there's a weird amount of blind unjustified pride being from here that I think weighs into a decision like that, especially after he knows the fallout from the last time.

Drunk rant over. Cavs will win the East next year. Ohio State will blank m*chigan and Durant will retire from basketball at the All-Star break.

goes back to rum & cokes
