Honestly. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING WITH THIS THING?
We do not need any 'extra protection' from terrorism. The only reason we would even be UNDER ANY THREAT from any sort of militant muslim group would be if we were unlawfully occupying their countries and killing their families (HELLO AFGHANISTAN).
If you want to really do something to lower our already astronomically tiny chance of being victimized by extremism, then maybe you should be voting on getting our 'peacekeepers' out of afghanistan.
How can we keep peace with weapons and murder? That would be like me saying i slaughtered and ate a cow because i'm a vegan now.
Seriously though, this is not in line with what we, as Canadians, know our country is, was, and shall always be. A true bastion of freedom. Sure the USA is our ally, but we don't have to follow it over every cliff.
If C-51 is passed, you can all expect a MASSIVE backlash from us, the Apathetic Canadian public, who, by sheer numbers, holds the power to elect, or not elect, our officials.
OF course, our apathy is why most of those who were previously elected are currently in power, but this is easily something that could inspire young, intelligent Canadians (there are MANY MANY more of us than you think) to go out to the polls and exercise our inalienable right to democracy.
You want to imagine a scary Canada? Imagine millions of pot-smoking, beer drinking, slacker kids actually getting out of bed, or away from their menial jobs/existences for a second to actually exercise their right to vote. You know the NDP would easily come out with a majority. And i'm sure that terrifies you all MUCH more than some shadowy non-existent Muslim man who by all intents and purposes was peaceful and non-violent until a remote controlled airplane slaughtered 25 of his family members at a wedding, and now he's seeking revenge.
Calm the fuck down and stop letting the american alphabet agencies/intelligence community dictate your own policy. You've been given the nod to run this amazing country. Please please do so with at least a tiny shred of respect for its common citizen.
