I'm not familiar with Creflo Dollar within the context you're speaking. I am aware that he teaches a prosperity gospel, which, I hope, most Christians would despise.

In any case, I've been lucky enough to not have experienced visiting those types of churches. I've had such encounters with those types of individuals, but I've never attended a church that operated under those type of beliefs. I'm sorry that's been your experience.

How do I reconcile the doctrine of original sin vs my need to have healthy self-esteem?

I'm not sure what your beliefs regarding original sin are, but mine don't create any undue burden on my self-esteem. I simply see it as partially a statement of the obvious: humans aren't perfect. That's a reality everyone has to live with regardless of their religious beliefs. The good news is you don't have to be.

If there is nothing I can do to get saved, isn't accepting the gift of salvation doing something?

There is nothing you can do to earn salvation. You simply accept it.
