Weekly Casual Conversation & Questions Thread

I'm not sure how long you don't mind your commute, but I used to live in Edgewater, right next to the Granville redline station. On most days, it was roughly 30 minutes to downtown. However, there is a bus nearby that runs express on Lakeshore Drive into the Magnificent Mile. That took around 20 minutes or so. There is also the bus that runs on Broadway/Clark into Downtown. Those 3 are within 2 or 3 blocks of each other. You will always have options. As for going to Naperville, you are near the end of Lakeshore Drive, getting to the Interstate should be easy. You'll have to deal with parking, though, as Edgewater is fairly densely populated.

I've always said Edgewater is one of the more overlooked parts of the city. You'll find reasonably-priced studios (at least back in 2015. Pretty sure prices have gone up), very good eats, public transportation, close to Lake Michigan, pretty safe area, very diverse. Overall, it's a very walkable area. I'd recommend scoping out that area if you haven't already. Best of luck.
