The person who gives other people endless amounts of chances is the one making it impossible for their chance to happen. How many times do your bones need to get broken from people walking all over you as their personal doormat before enough is enough? You want to help that person? All you’re doing is helping yourself get hurt as if you’re jumping in front of a moving train, knowing full well what’ll happen - you’ll get hurt and it’ll be inevitable that you will but you keep doing it anyways and taking that jump. So you can’t keep thinking “it’ll be different this time” because you know it won’t. They don’t reach out to you because they need you, they just want to use you for something - their own punching bag that’ll never get old because it can’t fight back. If you did they wouldn’t have a reason anymore because that’s not what punching bags are supposed to do. They come back doing even shittier than before and just need their good old punching bag to make them feel all better again. They degrade you. They disrespect you. They insult you, trying anything and everything to tear you down. Three days after talking again after months and months of no contact, your mistakes are already being talked about and brought up like it was just yesterday. All the things they blame on you, everything to them that’s wrong with you and why you’re a horrible person - the absolute worst. Blind to and changes you made and the person you really are. In their eyes, you can be no different. All they’re ever going to see is the worst form of you.
