[Weekly Discussion Thread] How was work today?

I'm 18, on my second year as an Early Childhood Education major. Today was our first day back in uni, and I was just groggy as hell. I have a Special Ed. course this term and the professor's stories made me all teary-eyed and I had goosebumps all the time. Teaching wasn't really my first choice (got accepted to this course, also mom forced me) and I'm still adjusting to the course but I'm liking it so far. My first choice was Political Science but I didn't get in to that course in this uni aka my dream school. My other choice was Diplomatic Affairs in a different uni but the school had a bad.... name to it so my parents weren't really down for it. Those were my first choices mainly because I wanted to go to Law school and eventually be a lawyer. Apparently, here in the Philippines, you can have any course as your pre-law so that's why I considered taking up Early Childhood Ed. too. But there's still the advantage of taking up an actual pre-law course. :P

Our class collaborated with one of the university's preschools and we went on a fieldtrip. Each student was assigned one kid and mine was this really cute kid named Gabe. I seriously didn't know what to do when he said that he wanted to pee..... It was so awkward for me. D: (don't worry, I still took him to the restroom and he got to pee :p)

I love kids but I think teaching them is a different deal. Being fond of them isn't enough, you should be patient and aaaaall kinds of things to actually love the job. It's not all fun and games cause most of the time it's tantrums and... cleaning after them. You should be really passionate about being an teacher.

tbh, I still don't know where I'm headed.
