Those are great finds. Certainly there's stuff here that reminds me of Orphan of Kos and Mother Kos...

I don't have anything specific to point you to, but I seem to recall (long ago) some mention that From was drawing heavily from Christanity for the Healing Church, not only the Bible itself (Old and New) but the religion in general.

Communion (also the name of rune in the game) is when Christians metaphorically and literally eat the body and blood of Christ. Healing Church's architecture is overtly Roman Catholic (fused with Lovecraftian elements). They have vicars, etc. As well, the theology of immaculate conception comes up in the story, albeit in a remixed fashion. There are a lot of remixed elements from various aspects of Christianity.

It's sort of an interesting take on Christian belief and ritual altogether, mixed in with Lovecraft. Even Lovecraft to me seems a product of doubt and skepticism in the Christian West (evolution, existential despair, loss of faith, etc.), but that's just opinion.
