-Age / Industry / Location

35M, married to 36F, no kids, both in IT, Northern VA (20mi to DC).

-General goals

Enjoy life now, enjoy life later, travel 4-5 weeks a year while employed.

-Target FIRE Age / Amount / Withdrawal Rate / Location

57.5 is our min retirement age to get a pension. We work for the Federal Government. We could RE, but probably won't as of now as work is enjoyable. Aiming for at least $2.5M assets less primary house.  4% withdraw or less, most likely less with pensions.

-Educational background and plans

I have 2 Masters, one is MIS and the other in Cybersecurity Technology. I have a CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, PMP, COR, and PM certs. Wife has MBA. 

-Career situation and plans

I am an IT Specialist. Plan to stay in govt.  Wife is an IT Specialist with the same plans. She does photography on the side. I may take up adjunct faculty job. 

-Current and future income breakdown, including one-time events

I make $138K gross.  She makes $118K plus $50K. I have Veterans Affairs disability of $3,227 tax free per month ($38,724 anually).

-Budget breakdown

$3,000 mortgage (no personal property taxes due to VA rating, PITI).

-Asset breakdown, including home, cars, etc

Primary house - $762K  Retirement acts - $490K Taxable - $55K Checking savings - $95K Emergency fund - $45K Home Equity- $145K

Cars - $35K, not counted in NW. 

-Debt breakdown

Mortgage- $617K, 9 years left, paying $1,500 extra per month. 

-Health concerns

None 

-Family: current situation / future plans / special needs / elderly parents

Not expecting any changes.

Net worth - $828K (less cars)

-Questions?

Can I buy a $50K-$60K car?  If so, should I use cash?

I currently drive an 08 Civic and the wife drives the 18 F-150.  Not sure how that happened.
