Weekly New Rider Thread for April 27, 2020

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about getting into the sport for a while now (been watching Seth's Bike Hacks for almost a year after he showed up in my recommended feed one day as well as some BCPOV) and was wondering if anyone here with more knowledge than myself could take a look at this used bike and if you can tell if it looks in good shape just from the crappy pictures in the post, or what I should ask the seller about it, what kind of price I should be talking them down to, etc. I've done some research on the bike and from what I can tell it seems like a decent budget first time bike, especially since I don't have a giant pile of cash to spend. Meets most of the stuff in the checklist in the first/budget buying guide thread. At the absolute most I think I could drop $1000, but would prefer under $750. Still working on a university student budget until I graduate and get hopefully get a decent job within the next two years, which is when I'd probably plan to go for a substantial upgrade if I'm still loving the sport.

Thanks for any help guys!
