Weekly Observations (December 16, 2019): What signs of collapse do you see in your region?

Chicago, IL USA

This year I have gone overboard with Christmas gifts but not plastic bits and whatnot. I have purchased an overwhelming amount of luxury food staples.

Why?

Because I personally believe this is our last good season for a while and my father probably won't make it another year. I want it to be nice for him. I also have given up on the idea that there is some white knight solution coming our way so I don't mind having one last good go.

I have purchased curries, sauces, spices, nuts, jams, breads, soups, chocolates, coffee, tea, salsa, pickled vegetables and more.

We are going to have one good Christmas and all the other extras are shelf stable so in the coming year we can enjoy little luxuries.

Maybe it isn't a sign of collapse to many but it is for me. This might be our last great Christmas and because of that I want my family to enjoy all the fun foods we can toast on.
