Weekly Q & A thread: Ask you gear, travel, conditions, or other ski-related questions here instead of making a new post.

I'm sure you guys get asked this question all the time, but I would love to get a few people's opinions.

I just bought my first boots ever, 2018 Dalbello Palterras. I'm an advanced skiier but I love to ski pretty casually. I don't do backcountry, I don't really chase powder, but I like the piste and moguls. I ski with my fiance who is a beginner/intermediate skiier. We don't go super fast together but occasionally I'll go crush a run without her. When I ski alone I like to ski fast.

The ski salesmen told me to get Volkl RTM 81s. Their price was $650 for 2018s. Think it's a good deal? When buying my first set of skis, I sort of expected to buy something like Moment skiis (honestly a lot of that has to do with how cool they look) but this salesmen recommended the Volkls (although that's really all they had for sale). Any thoughts? Thanks!
