Anyone got any advice on how to handle injuries?

I had an accident that has developed into a more serious injury, and now my ETA for rehab completion has just been pushed out 3 months, I'm stuck at home, PT doesn't want me doing frequent cardio when I heal up and both PT/physio are like "continue eating 2k kcal" and I'm here stuck in my room saying "yeah but I'm getting fat on that intake without exercise." Tbh I've eaten over my calories quite a few times now I'm stuck at home. At 2k with cardio it was a very slow cut, how tf am I supposed to lean down like this? Physio: "average adult male needs 2.5k, you're under eating" - I'm like 5'5 or 5'6, I'm not "average." Average has like 5-10kg lean mass on me.

It's mega frustrating, I was on the verge of getting cleared for chest/shoulder training and looking to start ramping my volume up and cut the last few % before the bulk. Now I'm sat here wondering when my knee/rhomboid are going to be usable again and watching the boat sail out. Traps/chest are getting tighter, posture is meh; feels like I'm going backwards.
