Weekly Question Thread (16 - 22 APR)

I want to join the Army Reserve or National Guard and attend college at the same time. After I get my BA I want to join the Active Duty to try and use the Post-9/11 to pay for the rest of college. Which option is less stressful and more likely to get me into active duty and paying for college?

Can I enlist in the Reserves or Guard with a 4 year contract (if that's even an option) and reenlist into Active Duty with the same MOS? I know reserves with only a 4 year contract do not get the Montgomery Gi-Bill, but I think that shouldn't be a problem as I plan on getting the Post-9/11 if I enlist as Active Duty, right?

The other option is 6 year reserve contract and try to get a DD-368 approved. I've heard that conditional releases for Reserves going AD are hard and rarely get approved. However, reservists get the MGIB-SR when they sign the 6 year contract.
