Weekly Questions & Answers Discussion

Sorry, this is more of a 'i have anxiety about _____' than a general question.

My mom may be in a situation where she needs to live in her 4 door sedan for the foreseeable future. Right now I'm incredibly overwhelmed and I'm worried she's going to get in over her head and I won't be able to help her.

Her car is a 2010 fusion. The back seats fold down into the trunk space and with a air mattress, the bump in the middle from the seats can be helped. What essential things should she learn before she even tries to attempt something like this? How much harder is it to camp in a sedan than a van? I know it depends on make. Are there any huge glaring things I need to be on the lookout for for her?

Off topic, but how safe would Slab City be for a single woman in her early 60's?

Thanks again. I'm just now learning about this so I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the information - but I am comforted that other people do it.

Thank you for any help/advice.
