Weekly Questions Thread - (June 07, 2017 UTC)

I have a band. The band has a page. The page has followers. The band plays gigs. The gigs require Facebook events. The followers want to know about gigs. I can't invite the followers. I can only invite my personal friends. Why the hell do I even have a page, then, if I can't invite followers who aren't friends?

I am beyond sick of Facebook, and I deactivated my profile last month. I have a dummy account with no friends, just so I can run my page. So I'm now in a situation where I've created an event, I can't invite my followers, and I have no friends, so I'm basically screwed.

I've thrown a lot of good money after bad with targeted posts before. It has never, ever worked, and I think it's a racket, and as far as I'm aware, no one who is actually a follower of my page has ever seen one of my ad posts.

And when I invite my own personal friends, I'm limited to 100. I have a lot of friends. This means I have to spend hours scrolling through one by one and cherry picking the friends I think are most likely to engage, share, or attend. I hate it.

I really, really can't say how much I don't want to be forced to reactivate my profile permanently just so I can invite friends to my band's events. That feels like my page's reach potential is being held hostage with no good options, and it's really making me want to just permanently delete my profile and delete my page and leave Facebook altogether.

Since Facebook literally never responds to questions or complaints (what the f**k does the post thread capability help section even exist for? Every thread is just years of people saying "I have this problem too"), I had to come here for answers and hope.

Has no one in the world found a fix for this yet?
