¤¤¤ Weekly /r/Buddhism General Discussion ¤¤¤ - August 13, 2019

Good morning, friends. Maybe you could offer some advice? I was raised in a culture where hunting (specifically white tail deer) is the center of most peoples lives. I have hunted for years now. Every time I have successfully harvested a deer, I also feel sorrow. Now that I have discovered Buddhism, I am beginning to understand why I feel such sorrow.

My son is 12 years old this year. He is so excited to riffle hunt this December (this is the first year he's allowed as a 'junior hunter'). However, my new practice is making me want to hunt less and less. In fact, I don't even know if I could pull the trigger again.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm just not sure how to handle the situation.
