Weekly /r/diysound Technical and Troubleshooting Questions Thread May 18 - May 24

I have a Samsung Series 6 UHDTV on my outdoor patio. WITHOUT using a receiver or pre-amp or soundbar, I am looking for a way to connect speakers to the TV so that I can install weatherproof speakers above the hot tub, or use small waterproof bluetooth speakers in the cup holders. And since I live in an area with high humidity and heat, looing for a low cost solution with a simple install so that when it quits working it aint gonna kill me to swap out whatever the magic box is. And yes, I could use the zone feature on my inside the house system, but feel it is a bit ridiculous to have to tune the TV inside and outside to watch TV outside. The only Audio out is Digital Audio Out (Optical). Not too concerned about sound quality, am more interested in being able to hear the TV over the Hot tub jets without all my neighbors in a 1/2 mile radius having to enjoy the show too. The TV does not have BlueTooth, but it does have WiFi. Powering speakers separately from the TV is not a problem and either a wired or wireless speaker solution is fine.

Oh, and it has to be a solution my wife can use - so basically, turn on the TV and get in the tub..

Thanks for finding my unicorn
