Hey guys, I'd appreciate some feedback about maybe upgrading my rig to run GW2 at max settings ("Best Appearance"/everything set to Highest/Ultra) with decent FPS.
I'm currently running it on a rig I built in 2012:
-CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (6-core 2.8 GHz when not overclocked)
-GPU: GeForce GTX 570 HD
-RAM: 8 GB DDR3
If I run the game on Best Appearance, I wanna say I get 30-40 FPS in most zones, lesser in PoF zones, and terrible FPS during large meta events like Serpent's Ire. I stay out of WvW entirely for this reason. Playing in medium/low settings is no problem.
My main problem is the CPU. I know this game doesn't really utilize multiple cores well. I need to upgrade this for sure, but I don't know where to start. I'd love your opinions.
The GPU I *think* should be able to run the game at max settings well, but I'd appreciate feedback if there's a better option.
The RAM I'm definitely going to upgrade to 16 GB.
In addition, I'll be replacing my hard drive with an SSD.
