Weekly Random Chat

Someone I met a couple of times years ago took his own life on Tuesday. Although I didn't really know him, I found myself in tears when I realized what had happened. He was my cousin's nephew, and my heart was broken for them and his family. He was a smart person, very kind, surrounded by family and friends, graduated from the university he worked at, and was working on his masters. He had no drinking or drug problem; however, he had been struggling with a deep and dark depression that he concealed from the world, and his lover left him a while back ending in a painful heartbreak. It makes me wonder why someone so special with a bright future would want to give it all up. I hope that people going through dark times in their life and mind realize that we are in this for the long run, and things won't feel like this forever. We must believe in ourselves. Even when you feel people are not there for you or can never understand you, I hope you look inside yourself and realize that is who you're living for, and that you will always be worth it. Whether or not your future looks bright or you are on a steady path, it is never, ever too late. You deserve to be alive, to see the world, and to experience unforgettable memories. There will always be light at the end of the tunnel, but you must walk towards it. He was only 23 years old. I hope you are at peace, friend.
