What are reg force jump companies like?

Always kinda viewed them as an end goal since the Airborne Regiment is kill, recently listened to a podcast featuring Darnell Bass (if you know you know) and he mentioned being placed there after the disbandment of the airborne regiment, said they were kind of a joke compared to the Airborne, that they had no real spirit leading him to leave the Canadian Forces after a bit. Does his impression still ring true today? I know it's been 20 years but I kinda want to know how they operate before really making any sort of attempt to pursue them.

If possible I would like to stay here and serve, CAF is making it a pain though, allied nations have opportunities that currently pale ours and if becoming a paratrooper is so difficult, is there even really a point in pursuing an infantry career in the CAF?
