[Weekly] Resume critique request and interview advice thread - Dec 28

Hi guys i need some help finding something. I found this position and it looks pretty great. My wifes mother got dementia so we moved from austin to take care of her, i did look for work but my wife found some first with help of friends. I most likely needed to be there anyway since she was pretty heavy at first to lift her up and we couldn't afford to put her in a home.

I have went through dozens of interviews for different jobs and even a few staffing agencys which came with its own share of resume changes and tips yet still got nothing. I even tried the self employed of side it work that i did for a bit on craigslist and such but i got pretty much sneered at a interview like i was taking jobs from a business somewhere so i changed it. I have flunked interviews one after the other if i can get one that is even having a phone interview where the guy hung up on me mid interview. Now my interview game isnt bad at all, i do all the normal stuff and even memorize question answers no problem. It would seem i was likeable and i felt like i for sure got the position but a week goes by and nothing.

I tried the connections thing and had my wifes friend offer me a position to which the interview and resume were great, but i still couldn't get the position which was just a standard driving job. They hired someone bigger than me just for the intimidation factor i guess for the people they were driving around.

I used to go to interviews full of confidence now i start shaking pretty badly on the way there with voice cracks sometimes. I listen to music to calm me down but it doesn't really last long once i get out of the car. I have a clear criminal record and could pass a drug test no problem, heres my resume.

That isn't exactly the most up to date one but was one of the more recent ones, i did change the format completely from the last one just cause i felt i needed something new or something. I need to find something within next month, i could volunteer or whatever people often say i could do but i have had people say it barely helped, or just contradictory stuff i read.

I have tried non IT job positions and even the staffing agencys couldnt find me anything, i think they just gave up after a month so i stopped calling them everyday. I had someone tell me to call them everyday so i did and every week or so came with its own resume changes or complete rework. They said my interview skills weren't bad at all, I remember walking into one for the first interview and the girl behind the reception desk dropped a pen on purpose it looked like but i was so nervous i didnt get up to pick it up for her until she got up to go get it. I think that was some kind of test and has been eating me that i didn't do it in time.

I love IT, my father is partly into IT and it just spoke out to me. I can do whatever besides coding, i mean i can look at code and figure out what it does but for some reason i can't write it worth a damn. Im more of a network guy maybe network sec. But i haven't really gotten into these fields deep at all to know what i really want to do. I used to have a whole skill list of IT stuff on my resume and i submitted my resume online which got me a lot of calls but mostly stuff that was too advanced for me seemed like since i never got the positions.
