The Weekly Rundown: Week of August 26, 2019

Goal: Reykjavik Marathon NYC Marathon (10 weeks away)

Plan: Pfitz 10-week multiple marathoning plan, slightly scaled back to peak at 55mi instead of 67

  • Tue: 7.1mi shoe rehearsal run in the Vaporflys, felt great at the time but my Achilles was weirdly stiff the next day
  • Thu: 6mi easy and thankfully the Achilles eased up
  • Fri: 1.3mi shakeout/run to bib pickup, was hoping to get in a bit longer but the timing just didn't work out with travelling
  • Sat: 1.5mi warmup to the start line and Strava has about 26.5mi for the race :) very happy with how things went!

Total: 42.3 miles

I'm feeling surprisingly good post-marathon, I think sitting in the geothermal pools for the afternoon was a solid decision! Might try a couple of very easy miles tomorrow to see how things feel.
