I work in a small business and we are only allowing six people in at a time and requiring masks. I’m lucky because we have an online store as well and if someone says that they can’t wear a mask then we refer them there and tell them to choose the free parking lot pickup option. Easy peasy.

I’m a little frustrated that we allow people with face shields in store as they’ve been proven ineffective, but I live in a low hit area of Canada, so the odds are in my favour.

I’m at high risk, so I’ve taken every precaution (short of not returning to work). What bothers me is that a fellow employee had to take three days off due to vomiting and nausea (which are listed as COVID symptoms by my province) and when I requested that she get a test before returning to work, I was blown off by my boss.

She came back to work and I am scared. This could cost me my life! We used to take our masks off between customers but now I keep it on all the time, and I’m sanitizing like crazy. She could be spreading it to other people! Lives are at risk here! But it takes a week plus to get test results so it wasn’t worth the hassle with our limited staffing (what my boss was thinking, I guess).

I’m scared for my life but I can’t not go to work. Awesome.
