I liked Umineko a lot and there's very few things I can really complain about, and Beatrice is just such a brilliant character that definitely takes a place in my top 5 VN characters.

Yet with all that said, this was the first VN I ever dropped and I can't quite put my finger on why. Objectively it's great, I stood up cheering at some points of the story but towards the end I felt like I was forcing myself to finish it - and I dropped Chiru a few hours into chapter 1.

I honestly can't tell why I got tired of it - and I objectively only have good things to say. I suppose if I were to hazard a guess it's because it dragged on a lot, I've read many long and slow started VN's before without issue (like Ever17) which is why I can't believe this is the whole reason.

It'll remain a mystery to me, just like the conclusion of the story to my great dismay. I really wish I could have forced myself through the last bit but at the pace I was going through chapter 1 of Chiru it just wouldn't be realistic.
